Norway
My first ever Solo travel last year took me to the highlands of Norway, specifically to the Pulpit Rock plateau surrounding Lysefjorden near Stavanger. I came across a breathtaking image of the Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) a few years ago when I was randomly googling scenic hiking locations. This year as my birthday was approaching in spring I spontaneously decided that I would do this hike and travel solo for this adventure. A lot of my cousins have started travelling solo in the last couple of years so I was inspired by them to try this experience out for myself. The hike was as per the photos magical, also a bit strenuous but oh so worth it. Travelling and doing the hike solo turned this experience into a very mindful and spiritual trip for me, there is something about being in nature, solitude and physical activity that creates a special type of awareness. This hike is definitely one for the books that I hope to repeat, as for my birthdays, I might just have started a new tradition for myself.
