Ever notice how some people make positive lasting changes in their lives while others never seem to?
This has always been a life-long curiosity of mine, and is the driving force behind my work as a coach – to help my clients unlock their internal resources to get to their next level.
So, you might be wondering; what do you need to get there from here?
In other words… What does it take to get from a place of self-doubt, lack of confidence, fear of failure, lack of support, overwhelm, overthinking, and burnout to achieving your goals and dreams with a sense of inner peace?
The answer? Discipline!
Before you ask any further questions, I want you to trust me and allow me to help you reframe “discipline” to its true meaning, so you can learn how to use it in order to supercharge your dreams and goals.
I often feel that discipline gets a bad rap. We associate discipline with life's difficult or unpleasant tasks, the things that we know we should do but struggle to accomplish.
Here's a truth: we don't accomplish much in life without self-discipline.
And, here's another truth that I've discovered… We can apply discipline to the things that bring us closer to who we want to be in this lifetime, the things that ultimately deliver us joy. When we understand the power that discipline has to deliver joy, we can start to look at the idea of discipline in a different way.
Enter joyful discipline – a concept that's helped me and my clients reframe how we show up for ourselves – through consistent, intentional, imperfect, and dedicated action towards our goals, dreams, and our next level.
Joyful discipline is about focusing on the joy that comes with pursuing our next level and ultimately fulfilling our potential.
When you start looking at discipline as a tool to get you unstuck, closer to your dreams, and ultimately your own happiness, you start looking at it differently.
Through joyful discipline, I've witnessed my coaching clients achieve big inside out changes in their lives, such as:
Moving out from home
Going back to school
Quitting their 9-5 and going all in on their business
Taking their first solo trip
Learning how to rest and take naps
Reframing their self-image
Creating sustainable fitness routines and eating habits
Growing through taking consistent imperfection action
Your mind and heart are in it, now all you need to do is to get started.
